The Andes mountains of South America are one of the greatest trekking locations on our planet providing a stunning scenic backdrop of snowy peaks, turquoise lakes and glacial valleys to some of the most famous treks in the world.
South America's most famous trek is the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the iconic path following the footsteps of the Inca to the stunning ruin of Machu Picchu, and this trek is a life-changing and incredible trek to complete. However the Andes mountains and Peru in particular are home to many more exciting treks that can make a South America holiday even more memorable and wonderful.
The Cusco region in Peru is home to a number of alternative treks to Machu Picchu including the Lares Trek, the Salkantay Trek and the Ausangate Trek; as well as treks to other Inca sites such as the popular Chquequirao Trek. The Huaraz region in central Peru is known as "the trekking capital of the Andes" and is home to more advanced treks such as the Santa Cruz Trek and the epic 9 or 11-day Alpamayo Trek through the stunning Cordillera Blanca.
Like all our holidays our trekking holidays can be tailor-made to suit your own travel wishes, with various trekking options and extensions available.
