Arrive in Lima at anytime, and upon arrival we will meet you and will escort you in a private transfer to your hotel, where we will help you check-in and answer any questions you may have before leaving you to enjoy your first day in Peru. The remainder of the day is free time to explore the fantastic Lima district of Miraflores, famous for its fine-dining opportunities, fabulous views over the Pacific Ocean, the 2500 year-old ancient pyramid of Huaca Pucllana, and world-class artesanal and modern shopping facilities.

Today you will get to discover all about Peruvian and Lima cuisine on our Gastronomy Tour, and will follow the journey of food from the market to your plate. Start the day in a typical Lima market and learn all about the fantastic and exotic ingredients that feature in Peruvian cuisine, then head to a kitchen and enjoy a cookery lesson and learn how to make a typical traditional Peruvian dish, then end the tour in one of Lima's top restaurants and enjoy a luxurious lunch with fabulous views over the Pacific Ocean.

This morning we will collect you by private vehicle and escort you to Lima airport for a flight to Cusco, a fantastic Andean city and the former capital of the Inca Empire. From Cusco airport we will escort you by private vehicle to your fabulous hotel near the centre of the city, and the remainder of the day will be free for you to enjoy the luxuries of your hotel, or to explore Cusco city centre.

The ancient city of Cusco is a fabulous world-class travel destination, featuring some of the most impressive traditional Inca and colonial-era architecture in the whole of South America. Today you will embark on a private tour to visit the highlights of this fantastic city, including Cusco cathedral and central plaza, Qoricancha Temple of the Sun, and the large Inca ruins of Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman which are situated on the outskirts of the city.

There is no better way to explore the length and breadth of the Sacred Valley during your holiday than on a private tour, with your own private tour guide and driver. The valley is one of the best travel destinations in South America, steeped in the history and culture of the Inca and Andean people. Leaving Cusco in the morning you will first visit the delightful village of Chinchero, which is famous for its traditional crafts techniques and unique clothing style, and also contains some pristine Inca ruins and a beautiful ancient colonial church. From Chinchero we journey to the Inca site of Moray, one of the most unique and impressive Inca sites in Peru which features three large terraced circular depressions. After Moray the tour continues to Maras, a network of salt-pans covering a valley side that pre-date the Inca, before concluding in the town of Ollantaytambo at the end of the valley. The town exists on a network of Inca streets, and features a large Inca fortress that overlooks the town that you will tour. Afterwards we will journey back up the valley to your spa hotel for the evening.

Overnight: Tambo del Inka Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, Sacred Valley

After enjoying your final morning in the Sacred Valley we will escort you by private vehicle to the train station at Ollantaytambo, and from there you will journey on the fabulous Vistadome train towards Machu Picchu, your destination being the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo (also called Aguas Calientes) in the foothills of the valley below Machu Picchu itself. The train journey provides a unique opportunity to admire the fantastic landscape which features traditional farmland, Inca terraces and ruins, and views of snow-capped Andean peaks. On arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo we will escort you to your hotel, which is excellently located for travel to Machu Picchu the following morning.

The advantage of sleeping in Machu Picchu Pueblo is that it allows early access to Machu Picchu itself, and we will take advantage of this opportunity by meeting you early in the morning in your hotel to escort you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu itself. Our guide will give you a private tour throughout this iconic site, explaining the key aspects of the various areas within the ruin, and discussing the history of the Inca Empire and the importance of Machu Picchu. After the tour concludes our guide will leave you alone so you have the opportunity to explore the ruin yourselves and make the most of your experience, and then we will escort you back to Machu Picchu Pueblo so you have enjoy some lunch. In the afternoon you will return to Cusco on the famous Hiram Bingham Train, a journey that offers incredible luxury, and fine cuisine.

Today you will return to Lima, and will have the choice of a morning flight giving you the whole afternoon and evening free in Lima, or an afternoon flight giving you one final morning to discover Cusco one final time. On arrival in Lima we will escort you by private vehicle to your hotel in Miraflores. You may consider spending your final afternoon visiting the ancient 2500 year-old pyramid of Huaca Pucllana, exploring the crafts markets of Miraflores, or enjoying the final evening meal of your holidays in the culinary capital of the Americas. We would be more than obliged to assist with restaurant reservations or recommendations if required.
